Two people died as a result of separate shootings Monday in Minneapolis

Two people were shot in the head within seven minutes of each other and within just blocks of each other on Monday evening in south Minneapolis.
Police responded to the first reported victim at 5:18 p.m., Monday, March 28, where they found the victim in the third-floor elevator lobby of 2400 Elliot Avenue South. Arriving responders confirmed he was deceased at the scene. The homicide was confirmed in a later statement by the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD). The victim in this shooting was identified on Friday by the Medical Examiner as Timothy Treyvon Brown, 35, of Coon Rapids.
A second shooting was reported minutes later and was described as a drive-by shooting, according to police dispatch audio. It was reported at the time that the victim’s vehicle had crashed at 5th Avenue South and E Franklin Avenue. The actual shooting scene was later determined to be on the west side of 35W at 4th Avenue South and E Franklin Avenue (top photo: crime scene).
MPD released a statement on Thursday evening stating that the victim in the drive-by shooting had died at the hospital on Tuesday. The victim of the shooting was identified by the Medical Examiner on Friday as Michael Lee Bell-McCalister, 23, of Minneapolis.
