Four from Minneapolis area facing drug trafficking charges in North Dakota
By Crime Watch MN, May 17, 2024
Four people from the Minneapolis, Minn., area have been charged in Burleigh County, North Dakota, on drug conspiracy charges.
Ashimiyu Alowonle, 38, of Minneapolis, Danielle Williams, 24, of Brooklyn Center, Deontae Jackson, 35, of Fridley, and Reyvana Howard, 33, of Minneapolis, are each charged with one count of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance involving fentanyl.
The four were arrested on May 2 at a Bismarck motel by officers with the Metro Area Narcotics Task Force who had received information about alleged drug trafficking from law enforcement in Minnesota, the Bismarck Tribune reported.
Bismarck authorities were reportedly informed by Minnesota law enforcement that Alowonle and Jackson were under investigation for drug trafficking in our state, and that information had been developed putting them in the Bismarck area.
Bismarck law enforcement observed the suspects in connection to other vehicles and locations known to be associated with drug activity.
A warrant was subsequently obtained, and the Bismarck motel room where the suspects were staying was searched. Over 2700 fentanyl pills and a quantity of suspected fentanyl powder were found.
Records from the Minnesota Department of Corrections show Alowonle is currently on parole following a 2019 conviction for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Court records also show Jackson has a lengthy criminal history involving several felonies. Crime Watch posted about Jackson in 2017 when he was identified as a gang member and was charged in connection to a drive-by shooting murder-for-hire plot.
All four remain in custody in Burleigh County Jail on bail amounts of $100,000 for Alowonle and Jackson, and $25,000 for Williams and Howard.
