Brooklyn Park: Occupied vehicle damaged by gunfire early Wednesday
By Crime Watch MN, Aug. 17, 2022
The Brooklyn Park Police Department reported Wednesday that an occupied vehicle had sustained bullet damage to its windshield at Norwood Park early Wednesday.
BPPD said in the alert that they had been contacted about 1:37 a.m. by a person who said they’d been fired upon about 30 minutes earlier at the park, located at 8100 Newton Avenue North.
A Crime Watch follower wishing to remain anonymous submitted a photo of the victim’s vehicle showing the bullet damage (top photo).
BPPD responded to the park and found several spent shell casings. The victim told police that as they were leaving the park, two vehicles were near the entrance blocking it with their vehicles.
The victim then heard several gunshots erupt. One bullet struck the victim’s windshield but missed the victim. After the shots fired incident, the suspects fled in vehicles and the victim returned home and called 911. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
BPPD continues to investigate the incident.
